Introducing Nicky Forster

Hi all,

The #AtlanticSix would like to unveil Nicky Forster as our newest crew member. Nicky has been involved with the crew for a while now. Nicky has been our reserve member ready to step in should anybody else have to vacate their seat for whatever reason. For personal reasons Mike Matson has taken the decision to swap seats with Nicky and step into the reserve seat himself. Promoting Nicky to full status.

Nicky was a professional footballer for twenty years playing over 700 games & scoring over 220 goals for eight different clubs including Reading, Birmingham and Brighton & Hove Albion. He has represented England U21’s on 4 occasions scoring one goal. He was manager of Brentford FC in 2011, guiding them to the Johnson’s Paint Trophy Final at Wembley the same year.
His final club was Lingfield FC after vowing to end his playing days where it all began at non league level having started his career at Horley Town FC where he was spotted by his first professional club Gillingham FC.

Nicky has regularly presented on Sky TV where he appeared on the Football League Weekend Show as a reporter and as a guest on live games. He writes various football related articles for both Sky Sports and local newspapers. Since stepping away from football In the summer of 2016 Nicky opened The Spot Wellness Centre, a micro gym offering discreet personal one-to-one training in the heart of Godstone, Surrey. This is the venue where the team will be breaking the indoor rowing World Record on the Concept2 rower on the weekend commencing 07th June this year.

Away from his career in his gym, Nicky continues his love of exercise by regularly competing in endurance running and cycling events and triathlons. He recently completed his 4th London Marathon in an impressive time.  He lives in Lingfield, Surrey with his wife, four children and two dogs. Nicky’s stepson, Jake Forster-Caskey, is also a footballer who plays for Charlton Athletic FC at present.

Nicky says “After completing several endurance events I am delighted to be challenging myself once again on a new venture with the AtlanticSix. This is new ground for me, a long way from the pristine dressing rooms and manicured pitches of old but one I shall embrace with all I have“.
